Recommendation status
What do Preliminary, Final, and No bet mean?
Preliminary means current odds, scratches, or other race changes can still alter the recommendation. Final means the race-day calculation is complete. No bet means the field is unusually unclear or the app cannot safely provide a ticket.
Why does the app say Preliminary?
The recommendation is still being recalculated with odds, scratches, or other race changes. The status area tells you what remains and when the race calculation is expected to finish.
What does recommendation confidence mean?
Low, Medium, or High describes how clearly the available information supports the recommendation. It is not the chance of winning, and a High recommendation can still lose.
Reading a ticket
Is the program number the horse number?
Yes. The program number is the number used on track screens and betting tickets. It is not a prediction that the horse will finish in that position.
What should I say at the betting window?
A final recommendation displays the teller-ready view. It provides the track, race, base amount, bet type, and program numbers in the standard order. You can read it aloud or show the screen to the teller.
Can the app place the bet?
No. The app cannot accept money, open a wagering account, place or transmit a wager, or guarantee that a teller accepts a ticket. You make every decision and transaction yourself.
Free days and season access
When is a free day used?
Only after you intentionally choose to unlock a Del Mar racing day while live information is available. That unlocks every race on that day’s card.
What happens after my three free days?
Your first three complete racing days are free. After you use all three, continuing live recommendations for the dates named in the app requires a one-time $19.99 season pass. It does not renew automatically. Race cards, results, and the Method page stay free.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open Settings in the app and choose Restore Purchases. Use the same Apple Account that made the purchase. If no valid pass is found, email support with the app version and approximate purchase date—but never send payment-card information.

Email feedback@horseracingcompanion.com. Please include:
- The race date and race number.
- The app version and build from Settings.
- What the screen said and what you expected.
- A screenshot, if it does not contain information you prefer to keep private.
Do not include an Apple Account password, payment-card number, government identification, or wagering-account credentials.
